Community Advisory Boards

An important part of mitigating the impacts of construction is the Community Advisory Board. Board members include residents and business representatives adjacent to the light rail route who serve as the voice of the community during construction. There are five Community Advisory Boards, one for each of the construction line sections. The boards meet every month to evaluate the performance of the construction contractor on how well the contractor minimizes impacts to the community, and how well it responds to problems. CAB members make a recommendation to the METRO Board of Directors on whether to award a quarterly financial incentive to contractors for going above and beyond the community’s expectations.
