ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Program Representative is the first level in a three level Program
series. The Rideshare Program Representative position promotes the use of
Valley Metro programs and services, educates client employees, develops
programs, and evaluates viability of new and present services for clients
and Valley Metro, and researches for projects for the purpose of improving
ridership and expanding Valley Metro presence in the business community
as well as universities and social service sectors. Clients include, but
are not limited to, chambers, businesses, business organizations, economic
development interests, real estate developers, universities, and transportation
management associations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
(These duties are intended to be a representative sample and not all-inclusive; position assignments may vary.)
- Sell, promote, and educate client decision makers (Human Resources,
Facility Managers, Executive Directors, Transit Coordinators, etc.)
and employees about Valley Metro Rideshare including vanpool, fixed
route and other Valley Metro programs.
- Maintain detailed database of client contact information, and activities
including emails, phone calls, and meeting notes.
- Maintain thorough understanding of Valley Metro services, fares,
passes and programs to respond to client inquiries.
- Aid in the design of and maintain market materials such as product
brochures, CDRs, product presentations, vanpool web content, videos,
and informational pieces for clients.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with peer agencies such
as ADOT, MAG, Maricopa County, etc.
- Participates in a variety of special events.
- Prepares a variety of reports, correspondence, and/or other information
related to assigned area of responsibility.
- Provides information, assistance, referrals, and follow-up services
to applicable individuals, which may include: assisting employers in
developing and documenting trip reduction plans; facilitating meetings;
developing and providing direction and training related to data collection;
troubleshooting and isolating computer problems related to hardware
or software; notifying employers of their responsibilities under applicable
ordinances; reviewing and interpreting survey results; reviewing plans
and programs with trip coordinators at employer sites; assisting employers
with bus card programs; and, giving presentations at employer benefit
and trip reduction fairs.
- Assists in preparing studies, reports, reviews, and/or other related
documents.
- Assists in conducting research, analyzing findings, writing analyses,
and developing recommendations in assigned area of responsibility.
- Performs
other duties of similar nature and level as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of college coursework in Business Administration, or other related
courses and two years of experience in consultative sales, or marketing
oriented position with decision making privileges; or, an equivalent combination
of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential
duties such as those listed above.
Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Arizona Driver’s License
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
- Principles of assigned area of responsibility;
- MS Office Suite
- Budgetary principles;
- Public relations principles;
- Training Techniques;
Skill in:
Possess highly developed computer skills including:
- Support a paperless process to increase efficiency in communication,
data sharing, etc.
- Proper utilization of contact database software critical
to the tracking and project management for this area.
- Regular monitoring of data input and report preparation.
- An understanding of database, spreadsheet, e-mail and word
processing applications as well as use of the Internet as a research
tool.
Physical Demands:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, fingering, grasping,
talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Work Environment:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to
10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly
to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion
of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most
of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
