Valley Metro, governor declare February
‘Find Your Match’ month

PHOENIX (Feb. 1, 2008) – Valley Metro again plays match maker this February to help those who love clean air and less traffic fall smitten with a different way of commuting. Valley Metro and Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano declare February as “Find Your Match” month to remind the public that everyone can help reduce traffic congestion and pollution by not driving alone.

The month of activities includes:

  • Speed-dating on the “Love Bus”
Valley Metro hosts speed-dating on a bus for young professionals, ages 27 to 41, on Saturday, Feb. 9. Young professionals who may not be using public transportation can enjoy a trial ride with Valley Metro while they work to make a personal connection, too. Speed-daters rotate partners at each bus stop.
  • Valley Metro’s Personal Match Makers
Valley Metro’s standing team of Rideshare Representatives assist willing businesses by matching employees with a colleague for carpooling, vanpooling, or bus routes. This extra level of service saves businesses time and energy, while helping employees share the ride with someone they already know.

“Removing more vehicles from our roadways is one of the best things we can do to make the Valley a better place to live, work and play,” says David Boggs, Valley Metro executive director. “I encourage everyone who drives alone to give public transportation a try this February. Look no further than Valley Metro for help.”
