Clean Air Awards Luncheon—it’s not too late make reservations! The annual Clean Air Campaign Awards Luncheon is the one of the highlights of the year for employers in the Trip Reduction Program. The winners have been selected and the awards are being engraved. Don’t ask—if you want to know who the winners are, you’ll have to attend the luncheon! The annual Clean Air Campaign Awards Luncheon will be held Wednesday, October 18 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch in north Scottsdale from 11:30am-1:30pm. Host for the event is Doug Nintzel, Media Relations Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation. He’s a regular on local radio and should be lots of fun. We’ll also recognize both new and continuing Best Workplaces for CommutersSM employers who are on the Valley of the Sun’s 2006 list. Get Tickets Online You can reserve tickets (or a table of 10) by going to our online registration site and using a credit card. Or, print the registration form and mail in with your check. Individual tickets are $25 per person and a table of 10 is $250. The Fall Kit We’ve got contests galore for Rideshare Week! Your TRP Employer Kit with the “Don’t Drive One in Five” poster and coaster were mailed late last month. If you didn’t get one, e-mail rideshareinfo@valleymetro.org and we’ll put one in the mail for you! You can also download the posters and flyers from our website and print them yourself or use the on-line order form for these and other materials. Your Rideshare Rep has a limited supply of coasters that will be distributed at TCA meetings. Don’t Forget… The “Don’t Drive One in Five” RideShare Week Contest will run for FIVE weeks from October 16-November 18, 2006. To qualify for the weekly drawings, individuals need to use an alternative mode at least once during the week. The contest link with all the details will be sent to you next week, but it won’t be active until October 16th! Entries for the “Try it for free” contest… …are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2006. Getting employees to try an alternative mode is tough, but if you can make it more enticing by making it totally free… it just might help your program. You supply the riders, we’ll supply the mode. If you’ve got employees who are willing to participate—to try an alternative mode during Rideshare Week, November 13 – 17—answer a few simple questions and fax the form. West Valley Human Services Alliance Transit Symposium "Getting From Here to There" Thursday, November 2, 2006 Join the West Valley Human Services Alliance (WVHSA) at the fall symposium to discuss human services transit issues affecting the West Valley. We will provide an overview of public transit services currently available in the West Valley, discuss present and future transit needs and facilitate the dialogue concerning possible solutions to issues facing this rapidly growing part of our region. During this event you will hear perspectives on transit services in the West Valley from key members of the business community, non- profit organizations, transit providers and government agencies. Please take advantage of this opportunity to share your concerns and ideas concerning these issues—your input is essential to helping shape the future of public transportation in western Maricopa County.
