Regional Area Road Fund Tax Extension

  • Focus Group Report [138K PDF]
January 2002 - The Regional Public Transportation Authority and the Maricopa Association of Governments commissioned WestGroup Research of Phoenix to conduct five focus groups with registered voters in the Valley. Groups were conducted in December 2001 with 52 registered voters who reside in or near Mesa, Glendale, Avondale, Phoenix and Scottsdale. The objective of the group discussions was to ascertain the level of support for extending the regional area road fund sales tax and gain insight into perspectives on funding priorities.
  • Telephone Survey Report [107K PDF]
Valley Metro and the Maricopa Association of Governments [MAG] commissioned WestGroup Research of Phoenix to conduct a telephone survey of registered voters in Maricopa County. The purpose of the survey was to ascertain the level of support for extending the regional area road fund [RARF] sales tax and gain insight into perspectives on funding priorities. A total of 626, 15-minute surveys were completed with high propensity voters who reside in Maricopa County. Interviews were conducted between December 26, 2001 and January 2, 2002. The margin of error for the total sample is +4.0 at a 95% confidence level.
  • 2001 On Board Origin and Destination Survey
This survey provides transit data for computer modeling and network simulation for air quality forecasting and long range planning provided by Maricopa Association of Governments [MAG], the Metropolitan Planning Organization. The survey also provides necessary documentation for the Title VI triennial update. The survey identifies travel patterns, demographics, and opinions on the transit services provided.
