Non-ADA Dial-a-Ride

A number of cities offer additional Dial-a-Ride services for seniors, individuals with disabilities and other residents. These services are in addition to ADA Dial-a-Ride Service which is provided to meet the requirements of the ADA.

Because non-ADA Dial-a-Ride services are funded locally by those cities who offer it, eligibility for service, service hours, areas served, fares and other policies vary. Chandler

  • Provider – East Valley Dial-a-Ride – (480) 633-0101
  • Eligibility – Chandler residents who are 65 or above or who have ADA Dial-a-Ride eligibility
    • Seniors must complete an application and provide documentation of age and proof of residency. Obtain an application by calling Valley Metro at (602) 716-2100
    • People with disabilities must be eligible for ADA Dial-a-Ride. Obtain an application by calling (602) 716-2100
  • Service Area – East Valley Dial-a-Ride service area, including Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe
  • Service Hours – Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays – 4:00 AM to 1:00 AM
  • Fares:
    • For trips of 5 miles or less: $4
    • For trips of between 6 and 15 miles: $4 + $0.50 additional per mile beginning with the sixth mile
    • For trips in excess of 15 miles: $9.00 + an additional $1 per mile beginning with the sixteenth mile

El Mirage

  • Provider – Northwest Valley Dial-a-Ride – (602) 266-8723
  • Eligibility – El Mirage residents who are 65 or above or who have ADA Dial-a-Ride eligibility
    • Seniors must complete an application and provide documentation of age and proof of residency. Obtain an application by calling Valley Metro at (602) 716-2100
    • People with disabilities must be eligible for ADA Dial-a-Ride. Obtain an application by calling (602) 716-2100
  • Service Area – Northwest Valley Dial-a-Ride service area which includes the communities of El Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Youngtown and immediately adjacent areas of Maricopa County
  • Service Hours – Weekdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM and Saturdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM for life-sustaining medical trips only
  • Fares: $2 per one-way trip

Glendale

  • Provider – Glendale Dial-a-Ride – (623) 930-3500
  • Eligibility – Glendale residents and visitors
  • Service Area – Service is available within the city limits of Glendale.
  • Service Hours – Weekdays between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Please note; there is no service on Saturdays, Sundays or major holidays.)
  • Fares: Regular Riders - $2; Riders 14-64 - $2; Seniors 65 & Older = $1; Riders with Disabilities - $1; Juniors 6-13 - $1; Children (5 & younger) - FREE

Peoria

  • Provider – Peoria Dial-a-Ride – (623) 773-7435
  • Eligibility – Peoria residents who are 65 or above or who have ADA Dial-a-Ride eligibility
    • Seniors must complete an application and provide documentation of age and proof of residency. Obtain an application by calling Valley Metro at (602) 716-2100
    • People with disabilities must be eligible for ADA Dial-a-Ride. Obtain an application by calling (602) 716-2100
  • Service Area – Service is available within the city limits of Peoria.
  • Service Hours – Weekdays between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Please note; there is no service on Saturdays, Sundays or major holidays.)
  • Fares: Persons w/Disabilities = $1.50; Seniors 65 & Older = $1.50

Scottsdale

Surprise

  • Provider – Northwest Valley Dial-a-Ride – (602) 266-8723
  • Eligibility – Surprise residents – Seniors age 65 and above and ADA Dial-a-Ride eligible residents receive priority and may book trips between 1 and 14 days prior to travel. Other riders must wait to book trips until the day of service. Trips are provided on a space-available basis.

  • Service Area – Service is available for all trip purposes within the city limits of Surprise. Trips may be provided beyond the Surprise city limits for medical or employment purposes on a case-by-case basis.
  • Service Hours – Weekdays and Saturdays between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM (Please note. Service is not available on Sundays or most major holidays.)
  • Fares: $2 for trips within Surprise; $4 for trips that begin or end beyond the Surprise city limits

Tempe

  • Provider – East Valley Dial-a-Ride – (480) 633-0101
  • Eligibility – Tempe residents who are 65 or above or who have ADA Dial-a-Ride eligibility

  • Service Area – Maricopa County
  • Service Hours – Weekdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Please note; there is no service on Saturdays, Sundays or major holidays.)
  • Fares: Service is currently free.
