Visitors

Valley Metro encourages passengers to have a game-time strategy:

  • Purchase an All-Day transit pass for $4 before you ride to ease your travels. Fare vending machines located at each station.
  • Light rail service in downtown Phoenix will be enhanced to serve the Championship Campus Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community January 8-10, 2016. Light rail will offer three-car trains and additional frequency when major events break. Boarding and de-boarding in downtown Phoenix will be limited to particular stations. See the map below for more details.
  • 10 light rail park-and-rides and 5 supplemental lots will provide greater parking options.
  • PHX Sky Train® at Sky Harbor International Airport connects to Valley Metro Rail at the 44th St/Washington station. Board a “westbound” train for Phoenix; an “eastbound” train for Tempe and Mesa.
  • Allow extra time to get to your destinations as we anticipate many will be going to and from Championship Campus Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community events in downtown Phoenix.
  • Pack light – security will be tight. Avoid bringing coolers and/or other large items on bus or rail.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi available all weekend thanks to Cox Communications.

Customers

Light rail and bus service will be busier than normal as we accommodate riders for College Football Playoff events.

  • Light rail will operate an enhanced schedule at full capacity to serve the significant evening events occurring January 8-10. Riders should expect better than regular service with additional crowds.
  • From January 4-13, certain downtown Phoenix bus service will be re-routed around Championship Campus Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community. Added traffic may cause delays; however, bus stop locations and route frequencies remain unchanged. Valley Metro recommends planning ahead and allowing extra time to get to your destination.
