Bike On Bus

Valley Metro invites you to "Rack 'n' Roll!" All Valley Metro buses are equipped with bike racks. You can ride your bike to the nearest bus stop or Park-and-Ride location.

Racks are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the bike rack is full, you will need to wait for the next bus. Plan accordingly!

Valley Metro and its participating transit companies are not responsible for damages caused by theft, loss, or any other damages sustained by bicycles on transit system property.

Tips when taking your bike on a bus trip:

• Be prepared when the bus arrives at the bus stop. Remember to remove water bottles, bicycle pumps or other items before the bus arrives.
• You are responsible for loading and unloading your bicycle. For safety reasons, the driver cannot leave the bus to assist you.
• Load your bike as quickly as possible while other passengers are boarding. Be considerate of your fellow passengers, who may need to make a transfer down the line.
• Make sure your bike is secured properly, and become familiarized with the different bike racks. When used correctly, they will safely hold your bike. If you are unable to secure your bike, please do not delay the bus.
• To safeguard your bike, lock the wheels to the bike frame. Never lock your bike to the bike rack.
• Let the bus operator know where you will exit.
• Whenever possible, sit near the front of the bus and exit through the front door. Make sure you tell the operator you will be unloading your bike.
• If no other bikes are left on the rack, please put the rack in the upright position. Your bus operator will greatly appreciate it.
• Riders should approach the bike rack from the curbside. Never step to the street side of the bus when loading or unloading your bike.
• Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
