| METRO light rail will increase service to near 10-minute frequencies on Sunday, July 4 to support access to Phoenix and Tempe holiday events. METRO will also provide similar service levels when the events end. Service will be extended that evening with the last full trips occurring at midnight, rather than 11 p.m. EXPECT CROWDS on board, at park-and-rides and possible delays. Please be patient and plan ahead. Post-event, look for the proper line to get you on board a train headed in your return direction. SAVE TIME by purchasing an All-day pass in advance for your round trip service on light rail. Buying in advance minimizes your waiting time at the fare vending machines on the day-of. Buy your pass today ONLINE, from a transit center, retail outlet or station fare vending machine and simply activate it on July 4. |

FREE BUS SERVICE Ride the bus for FREE in Tempe on July 4th. Most Tempe bus routes will serve the Mill Avenue District until 8 p.m. with return service until midnight. Many downtown Tempe bus and Orbit routes will drop off and pick up at the Tempe Transportation Center on the northeast corner of Fifth Street and Forest Avenue. Due to street restrictions, several downtown Tempe routes will be detoured to connect with light rail and will not serve their normal stops. If you choose to take the bus and transfer to light rail, you will be required to pay a fare. |
