Holiday Service

Transit service is provided 365 days a year on all local routes in Glendale, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe.

Bus Routes

Bus service will operate on the following major holidays using a Sunday schedule. Express and RAPID routes do not operate on these holidays.

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Memorial Day-Observed
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve (2010)
  • Christmas Day (2010)
  • New Year’s Eve (2010)

Routes with Saturday service will operate on New Year’s Day using a Saturday schedule. Express and RAPID routes do not operate on New Year’s Day.

Regular service is provided on all Valley Metro routes on Cesar Chavez Day and Columbus Day.

METRO light rail

Light rail service will operate on the following holiday/special events schedule:

  • Christmas Eve—regular schedule but NO late-night service (2010)
  • Christmas Day—Sunday schedule (2010)
  • December 28, Insight Bowl—regular schedule but will extend service after midnight with last full trip at 2 a.m. (2010)
  • New Year’s Eve—regular schedule with late-night service; additional trains provided for special events (2010)
  • New Year’s Day—Sunday schedule (2011)
  • Martin Luther King Day—Sunday schedule
  • Presidents’ Day—Sunday schedule
