Business Outreach
As with any major infrastructure project, construction of the METRO light rail system causes some impacts to those along the route. To help minimize these impacts and aid businesses during light rail construction, METRO developed a comprehensive Business Outreach Plan. This plan provides businesses with the tools necessary to weather light rail construction and was modeled after successful programs in other cities during construction of their light rail systems. The program includes a number of measures, including contractor incentives, a signage program, a 24-hour hotline, marketing and advertising plans, and business counseling assistance.
