Honoring Our Heroes

Valley Metro is proud to recognize its employees and service providers who are U.S. veterans. They are the men and women who operate and maintain our buses and trains, provide safety and security, answer rider calls and questions and plan for future bus service and light rail extensions. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to each one of them.

Betty and Virginia

Betty and Virginia, mother and daughter team, served our country as members of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. Betty served as SP4 Administration and Battalion Mail Clerk in Germany. As a member of the U.S. Army, Betty says she learned the value of respecting others and that everyone deserves to be treated fairly. During her service, Betty received the Army commendation Medal for Meritorious Service, Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Discharge. We’re honored to have her on the Valley Metro Customer Service team.

Virginia served in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class in Communications, stationed overseas in Italy and South Korea. In the Navy, Virginia and her comrades learned to focus on the “mission” whether that is providing communications for submarines or refueling an airplane. While in the service, she received two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals and a Joint Service Achievement Medal. We are thankful that Virginia has now joined Valley Metro’s mission. She is a valuable asset to the Valley Metro team as a Project Controls Technician.

Robert Rosenberg

Rob was as an Avionics Guidance and Control Specialist for the U.S. Air Force serving both stateside and overseas in Italy and Turkey. From his experience, he gained a strong foundation in troubleshooting and system repairs. His role in serving our country started his journey into the field of electronics, which prepared him for being a Light Rail Technical Trainer. While serving, Rob received the 437th Military Airlift Wing Airman of the Year, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, USAF Airman’s Leadership School Distinguished Graduate and Southwest Asia Service Medal with a Bronze Star. Thank you Rob, for serving our country and our riders.

Rick White

Rick, an Exterior Electrician for the U.S. Air Force, served at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. During his years of service he worked with high voltage, which helped him understand and respect the requirements needed for powering the alignment. It’s very fitting that Rick is now a leader on our operations team as a LRT Systems Manager. His commitment to our country and our team is greatly appreciated.
