Super Bowl, Super Excitement!

It’s an exciting time as the Valley becomes the epicenter of entertainment. Super Bowl XLIX is coming to Arizona on February 1, 2015, and with it, a host of once-in-a-lifetime events. Want to experience the action or simply get to and from work without hassle? Valley Metro is here to help you!

First, a sample of some of the fun:

Verizon Super Bowl Central will be the hub of fan, media and sponsor activity and entertainment from January 28-February 1 in downtown Phoenix. It’ll cover 12 city blocks with a family-friendly, football-themed, outdoor fan campus. Visitors can enjoy the Valley’s beautiful weather at outdoor musical performances and take in nightly fireworks shows. The best part: it’s free! More than 1 million visitors are expected to check it out.

Then there’s the NFL Experience, an interactive theme park that celebrates football’s rich history. It’s open to the public from January 24 through February 1 at the Phoenix Convention Center. The NFL Experience gives fans a chance to pass like a pro or take a shot at kicking a game winning field goal. For the youngest of NFL fans, it has the Play 60 Rush Zone and Play 60 Clinics for kids to get out and get active. It’s also where fans can meet some of their favorite NFL players. Tickets are on sale at SUPERBOWL.com.

Commemorative Pass

Festivities tied to the Super Bowl are taking place all over the Valley from parties in Scottsdale and concerts at various venues to the Pro Bowl on January 25 and the big game in Glendale on February 1.

Want to be a part of it all? Get your game plan ready and purchase a commemorative Super Bowl XLIX 7-Day transit pass. The limited edition Valley Metro pass costs $25 for regular fare and will help you get to and from Super Bowl events with streamlined boarding on the bus or light rail. A Reduced fare pass is available to those who are eligible for $15. Eligibility includes persons with disabilities, seniors 65 or youth age 6-18. You can learn more and purchase a pass at valleymetro.org/superbowl.

Valley Metro will provide enhanced rail and local, Express and RAPID bus service to give riders a variety of options to reach all the excitement. This includes additional service in Glendale on Pro Bowl and Super Bowl game days. Click here for updates on schedule and map information.

Now, let’s say you work in downtown Phoenix and need to get around all the action. Several bus routes and light rail will connect you directly with downtown Phoenix employment centers.
