As with any major infrastructure project, construction of the METRO light rail system will cause some short-term impacts to those along the route. To help minimize these impacts and aide businesses during light rail construction, METRO has developed a comprehensive Business Outreach Plan. This plan is aimed at providing businesses with the tools necessary to weather light rail construction and was modeled after successful programs in other cities during construction of their light rail systems. The program includes a number of measures, including contractor incentives, a signage program, a 24-hour hotline (602-254-RAIL), marketing and advertising plans, and business counseling assistance.
The Business Outreach Plan includes programs by METRO, as well as its partner cities. More information on these programs is listed below.
