METRO Traffic Update

(Updated 6/6/2008)

Phoenix, Ariz. – METRO has finished roadwork in Tempe and Mesa. Roadwork in central and northern Phoenix will be completed in summer 2008.

Vehicle testing is underway on an expanded test track from 24th Street and Washington to just east of Mill Avenue.  We will soon expand testing further to the Mesa end of line by end of June. Commuter traffic travels normally, alongside our light rail vehicles. Expect a train at any time from any direction, always obey traffic and crosswalk signals, and never walk on, or stop your car on, the light rail tracks. Learn the rules of light rail safety online at MetroLightRail.org/Safety

METRO construction crews are working hard to minimize impacts on traffic and to maintain customer access to businesses. Get the latest information on restrictions online at MetroLightRail.org/Traffic.
