Who: The Valley Metro Board of Directors approved the new Valley Metro logo and color palette in 2008 after reviewing customer comments that the transit system needed to “revitalize” its image.
What: Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) is introducing a new bus into service that has a modern and sleek paint scheme—silver with vibrant green and purple reflective decals.
Where: This bus will be operating on various trips on routes 30 (University Drive) and 61 (Southern).
When: Beginning Monday, Nov. 2
Also view this bus at the Superstition Springs Transit Center ribbon cutting ceremony on Thurs., Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.
Why: To help with the efficiency of refurbishing existing buses, new bus purchases, and to provide additional visibility and another layer of safety for passengers, bicyclists and motorists.
How: Valley Metro staff will be distributing surveys to passengers on route 30 and 61 to help collect information and opinions about the cost neutral bus paint colors and design.
Valley Metro/RPTA provides eco-friendly public transit options to residents of greater Phoenix and Maricopa County, including a clean-fuel bus fleet, low-emissions light rail, a bio-diesel Dial-a-Ride fleet, online carpool matching and bus trip mapping, and bicycle and telework assistance. Funding is provided by local, state and federal revenues; and administered by a board of 15 governments working to improve and regionalize the public transit system.
