Free Assistance for Developing Workplace Telecommuting

Rideshare News

PHOENIX (July 30, 2009) – This year marks the 20th anniversary of the telecommuting (or “telework”) movement in Arizona, but few organizations formally embrace this work option today. Only 11 percent of Americans, or 33.7 million, are allowed to telecommute, according to World at Work research. Why? What has gone wrong and why aren’t more employers discovering the business savings, employee satisfaction and environmental benefits behind telecommuting?

Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority will host a free, four-part webinar series for employers this September. Led by Eddie Caine, nationally renowned virtual workplace expert and Valley Metro’s Professional Services Manager, the seminars will teach five keys to implementing successful telecommuting programs that keep employees productive and connected to colleagues. Caine has developed and evaluated telecommuting programs for more than 300 public, private and non-profit organizations including Freddie Mac, AT&T, and others.  Business owners, human resources managers and other decision makers will learn how to reduce turnover, recruitment costs and facility costs, and significantly add to the bottom line each year.
