“It’s one bus that will definitely grab your attention while driving on the streets in and around Tempe, Arizona,” said David A. Boggs, Valley Metro executive director.
The winning design was produced by Max Ellinger, a16-year old sophomore from the New School for the Arts & Academics (NSAA) in Tempe. Tempe-based bluemedia was a sponsor of the bus wrap and installed the design.
“Max’s entry was chosen because his artwork is colorful and fun,” said Dolores Nolan, Valley Metro Transit Education Manager. “In addition to its visual merits, Max’s entry provided a timely environmental message.”
Ellinger’s artwork was chosen out of 64 entries submitted by schools across the metro Phoenix area and will be on a Valley Metro bus for one year.
