Pilot Bus Route 277 Service Suspended

Route 277, a pilot bus route offering trips in east Mesa, will not continue service this fall. Valley Metro and the city of Mesa apologize for this inconvenience to travelers who used the route to get to work, school and major activity destinations. The service is being suspended due to unexpected budget restrictions.

The route served residents and visitors during the fall/winter/spring seasons with weekday and Saturday bus service between the Superstition Springs Park-and-Ride and Signal Butte Road along Baseline, Southern and Broadway roads. Click here for a flyer being provided to locations along the route.  During the inaugural season between October 2012 and April 2013, there was an average of 155 daily passengers.

Valley Metro encourages riders to seek out travel options by:

  • Going to the Trip Planner to get bus and light rail trip information
  • Nearest bus service is Route 184/Power Road
  • Connect to light rail by taking Main Street LINK from Superstition Springs Transit Center
  • Seeking a carpool or a seat in a vanpool
  • Working with your employer to find a co-worker that lives near you to share the commute
  • Seeking out rides from neighbors and friends.

Prior to removal, Route 277 bus stop signs are being used to notify residents and seasonal visitors that the service will not be available beginning in October 2014.
