Superstition Springs Receives Top Environmental Award

Valley Forward Association, the only civic group in the metro Phoenix region that focuses exclusively on the balance between economic development and environmental quality, presented the Superstition Springs Transit Center with a first place Crescordia at the 30th Anniversary awards ceremony on Oct. 2.

As Valley Metro’s first construction project in its 23-year history, great care was taken to make the Transit Center harmonious with its surroundings and the environment, while serving as an important and purposeful local crossroads for travelers. Its unique design demonstrates there can be a successful integration of the desert with the local man-made environment.
