On Thursday, August 14, U.S. Congressman Ed Pastor received numerous heartfelt accolades for his contribution to public transportation in the metro Phoenix region.
National and local officials, friends and family members of Congressman Pastor joined together to show their appreciation for representing the Phoenix area in the U.S. Congress and to celebrate his 2014 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Distinguished Service Award. Following official remarks, a Valley Metro Rail train arrived at the Central and Roosevelt station with a unique wrap depicting projects that were made possible through Pastor’s support and advocacy in Washington D.C. Pastor will retire from office later this year after serving as a congressional representative for 23 years.
