Queen Creek Residents Asked to Take Transit Survey

Valley Metro is conducting a survey to determine the need for additional transit services in the community of Queen Creek. The survey will help the Town identify opportunities to enhance services within Queen Creek and the Southeast Valley. It will also help determine:

• Transit services that may connect to the regional system
• Transit ridership market in Queen Creek
• Potential transit mode alternatives

The survey is available on June 1. Click here to access the survey online. Copies will also be available at several locations in Queen Creek:

• Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road
• Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road
• Queen Creek Town Hall, 22350 S. Ellsworth Road
• Horseshoe Park, 20464 E Riggs Rd
• Ice Cream Social on June 8 (event info)

All surveys must be mailed back or completed online by July 21. Public input will help Town officials make informed decisions on how to invest in efficient and effective transit service for the local community. Valley Metro will provide the Town with service recommendations once the survey results have been analyzed.

About Valley Metro: Valley Metro provides eco-friendly public transit options to residents of greater Phoenix and Maricopa County including the planning and operations of a regional bus system and the development and operations of light rail. In calendar year 2012, total ridership for the system was 72.5 million passengers—an increase of 3.8 percent over 2011. The first 20 miles of light rail opened December 2008. Six light rail extensions are planned or under construction that will create a 57-mile system by 2032. Valley Metro also offers transit options including commuter vanpools, online carpool matching, bus trip mapping, bicycle safety and telework assistance. Two Boards of Directors set the policy direction for the agency with the intent of advancing the regional public transit system.
