Valley Metro Operates Sunday Schedules on Veterans Day

Phoenix, AZ (November 5, 2012) Valley Metro bus and METRO light rail will operate on Sunday schedules for Veterans Day on Monday, November 12, 2012. Express and RAPID commuter bus services will not be in operation. Customer Service, at 602-253-5000, will be available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Additionally, the following transit centers will be closed in recognition of the holiday: MetroCenter, SunnySlope, Ed Pastor and Central Station. All services will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, November 13. 

Passengers can get assistance with alternate routes and schedules in a few ways:

  • Refer to the Trip Planner or Google Transit at ValleyMetro.org for information on bus and light rail schedules
  • Use NextRide to receive next trip bus and light rail arrival information:
    • Call 602-253-5000 and say “NextRide,” then say or enter the STOP # located at your bus or light rail stop
    • Text 64274 and enter NXRD and the STOP# located at your bus or light rail stop (standard text messaging rates apply)
    • Go online to ValleyMetro.org/NextRide.

About Valley Metro: Valley Metro provides eco-friendly public transit options to residents of greater Phoenix and Maricopa County including the planning and operations of a regional bus system and the development and operations of METRO light rail. In fiscal year 2012, total ridership for the system was71 million passengers. The first 20-miles of light rail opened December 2008 and served 13.5 million riders in 2012 exceeding the prior year by six percent.  Six light rail extensions are under way that will create a 57-mile system by 2032.
