Valley Metro has initiated a feasibility study to evaluate corridor options to connect the existing light rail system to the Paradise Valley Mall area. The two corridor options were identified through the following plans:
- The 2004 Regional Transportation Plan, which identifies a 12-mile corridor option.
- Phoenix Transportation 2050 Plan, which identifies an alternate 8-mile corridor option.
The study will conclude in late 2017 and will provide the necessary information to begin a more detailed transit study.
The Northeast project will provide enhanced transit service to the Paradise Valley Mall area and is scheduled to open in 2034. The project is part of a regionally-approved transportation plan that includes federal, regional and local funds.
