Mesa Mileage Reimbursement Program (480) 962-7433

The Mesa Mileage Reimbursement Program provides senior citizens age 65 and over and persons with disabilities the opportunity to have a volunteer driver take them where they need to go. The service is available only for qualified Mesa residents.  Because this service is paid for by the City of Mesa, it is not available for persons who live in county islands or anyone who lives outside of the City of Mesa.

Qualified Mesa residents can receive per mile reimbursement which they are required to turn over to their volunteer driver.  The volunteer driver can be a friend, neighbor or relative, but the driver cannot live in the same household as the participant.

The mileage reimbursement will not exceed the current IRS mileage reimbursement rate. Participants can receive reimbursement for up to 300 miles each month. An application must be completed and approved before you can participate in the Mileage Reimbursement Program. Once you are notified you are approved, you will receive a welcome packet that includes mileage log sheets.

Once your application is approved, you complete the Mileage Log Sheets no later than the 3rd day of the following month and mail or deliver to the Ride Choice Office.  Mileage Log Sheets must be complete and accurate and received in the Ride Choice Office by the 5th day of the following month.

Reimbursement checks are mailed out on the 15th of the month.  The checks are mailed and cannot be picked up at the Ride Choice Office. Reimbursement checks are sent to the passengers and it is their responsibility to turn the money over to their drivers.
