Notice of Public Hearing for Phoenix and Avondale Urbanized Areas
Program of Projects for the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
FTA applications for
49 U.S.C. §5307, §5309 funded projects

As the designated recipient for federal transit funds, the City of Phoenix Public Transit Department will hold a public hearing on behalf of the Phoenix and Avondale urbanized areas (Avondale, Goodyear, Mesa, Phoenix, Regional Public Transportation Authority, Scottsdale, and Tempe) for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The hearing is from 6 to 7 p.m. (or ending sooner if all testimony has been heard) on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Public Transit Department office, 302 N. First Avenue, 4th floor.  An open house begins at 5:30 p.m. The program of projects is available at www.phoenix.gov/publictransit and at www.ValleyMetro.org. Pay-parking is available on surrounding streets and at the building’s garage which will close at 7 p.m.; the building is also accessible by bus and light rail via Central Station

This hearing is to solicit and consider public comment on capital projects for which financial assistance is being sought from the Federal Transit Administration, pursuant to 49 U.S.C.

Interested persons or agencies can be heard with respect to the social, economic and environmental aspects of the projects and may submit oral or written comments until 5 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009.  Written comments will be accepted via e-mail at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)or by mail to: City of Phoenix Public Transit Department, Attn: ARRA Public Hearing, 302 N.
