Route 66 extends to Gila River Indian Community

Who: Valley Metro in partnership with the Gila River Indian Community

What: Valley Metro is extending a bus route to serve the Gila River Indian Community. This is the first time in Arizona history that a partnership has been created between a tribal governmental entity and Valley Metro, a 16-member agency providing regional transit services in the Valley. The route will include a new extension to the current Route 66-Mill/68th St./Kyrene service. Included in the stops on the new route will be Gila River Gaming Enterprises Lone Butte Casino. This new offering will allow commuters from the Gila River Indian Community, employees of the Lone Butte Industrial Park and employees as well as patrons of Lone Butte Casino to utilize the public transit option and help promote a green lifestyle. When: The route began serving the Gila River Indian Community on April 26th, 2010

Where: The Gila River Indian Community including Lone Butte Casino and Lone Butte Industrial Park located in Chandler.
