Valley 3rd Graders Lend Talent for 2010 Calendar

PHOENIX (Dec. 9, 2009) – Valley third grade students will have their artwork featured in the 2010 Valley Metro Cool Bus STUFF fifth annual transit calendar. Sixteen drawings were selected out of 670 entries based on their unique artwork and message.  A single drawing is featured for each month, plus a best of show that is featured on the cover of the calendar and three honorable mentions. With the theme, Valley Metro: Go Smart. Go Transit. Valley youth were asked to demonstrate their artistic ability by showing how transit can be fun, safe and help the Earth!

“We were overwhelmed by the number of student entries, their creativity and their attention to environmental issues in this year’s contest,” said Dolores Nolan, Transit Education Manager. “Their interest in our community makes me optimistic for our future.”
