Valley Metro Wants You to Stay Healthy!
Take practical steps to slow the spread of the H1N1 virus. Riding Valley Metro buses or METRO light rail is essential for many people in the Valley to get to work, school or shopping. Here are a few tips to help you maintain your daily routine.
• Public transportation is safe; millions of people take it each day
• Public transportation is accustomed to accommodating large numbers of people on a regular basis
• Buses, METRO trains, transit facilities and fare vending machines are cleaned regularly
• Valley Metro bus operators may be wearing a mask to help protect their health
• As a passenger, to protect your health and the health of others, practice simple rules of hygiene:
* Passengers should cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when they cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread easily that way.
* Stay home if you get sick.
