Podcasts have changed the game when it comes to gathering information, staying informed or just hearing someone’s opinion on a topic.

If you’re like me, your favorite podcasts might include discussions about your favorite sports team like the Phoenix Suns or a review about the final episode of “The Mandalorian.” But there are more possibilities. Now I can add Valley Metro to my list of podcast favorites.

Curious to know a little more about the ins and outs of Valley Metro? Perhaps how Valley Metro’s CEO spends his time riding the light rail or how much public transit has grown in the Valley of the Sun over the last 40 years. Now, Valley Metro is utilizing the power of podcasts.

The “Shifting Ears” podcast is your ticket to go behind the scenes with Valley Metro. If you want to know how the name of the podcast came to be, you’ll have to listen to the first episode to find out. The podcast was created for Valley Metro employees to stay updated with internal happenings.

Meet public information specialists Brittany Hoffman and Madeline Phipps who will be your hosts as you explore all things Valley Metro. Topics will include information on upcoming events, interviews with employees, updates on Maricopa County transportation and more. The episodes, which run nearly 15 minutes, are perfect to turn on during a walk around the neighborhood or during your morning commute to work.

Through 10 episodes, Brittany and Madeline have explored Valley Metro with CEO Scott Smith, Director of Capital and Service Development Wulf Grote and members of the Customer Experience Coordinator team, just to name a few.

So far, they’ve had discussions about Valley Metro’s response to COVID-19, the construction in downtown Phoenix, Artsline and more. It’s your perfect way to stay up to date.

“Shifting Ears” will launch to the public in this spring.
