You’ve heard of the new car smell. Now’s your chance to check out the new bus smell! Valley Metro has brand-new motorcoach buses that are stacked with the latest amenities for long-distance travel, and you can take a ride yourself or enjoy a virtual trip. They're tall and sleek, with stairwells leading to elevated seats. Those seats recline, and in addition to seatbelts, they have footrests, armrests, personal lights, luggage racks, and even USB chargers! The modern additions to Valley Metro’s fleet are tailor-made for highway travel, which makes them ideal for express bus service.
Some lucky passengers have already taken a ride on one of the new buses. They boarded on express bus Route 533 from the Superstition Springs Transit Center and enjoyed the trip to 17th Avenue and Jefferson Street. Here's video of the trip.
If you want to take advantage of the next opportunity to check out the new ride on express bus Route 562, be at the Goodyear Park-and-Ride early Monday morning on February 8. The final stop will again be 17th Avenue and Jefferson.
Valley Metro will get 30 new motorcoaches. They’ll replace older buses that are on their way to a well-deserved retirement. So, out with the old and in with the new! These modern motorcoaches will soon be seen taking passengers to their workplaces and home again in style.
