Valley Metro’s core purpose is to connect communities and enhance lives. This commitment is kept by continuing to provide transportation for the community and its essential workers, who are heroes on the front line battling our nation’s current crisis. Valley Metro’s own staff, such as bus and train operators, maintainers, security as well as other essential team members, are also heroes. According to Scott Smith, Valley Metro’s CEO, “our team members are going above and beyond to keep people and our economy moving during this challenging time.”
Valley Metro has received numerous heartfelt thanks and support from customers. One that stands out is from Honor Health Research Institute: “Thank you for your support and for getting our frontline workers and essential workers all over the Phoenix Metro area to home and work safely.” Valley Metro customer Shortie Zola expressed, “as a senior with mobility issues, buses are my only way to visit doctors. Thank you for all you do!”
People are stepping up and adapting to the pandemic. Here at Valley Metro, our essential employees have done just that. They’ve continued to show up, face coverings and all, to provide a needed public service to the community. Valley Metro employees love to hear support and encouragement from riders. We also thank our customers, for being patient, kind, and trusting, as we adapt to this new challenge together.
