Overview
Streetcar travels to 14 stops along its three-mile route. As the Valley’s first modern streetcar line, it adds to the comprehensive transit network in Tempe, which includes buses, circulators, light rail, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. How to Ride

Plan your trip using the trip planner on our Valley Metro app, valleymetro.org or contact Customer Service.

Wait for streetcar on the stop platform.
-
Board the streetcar when it arrives at the platform.
-
Streetcar can make sudden stops. Sit down or hold on while the streetcar is moving.
-
Upcoming stops are announced on the vehicle.
-
Doors open and close automatically. Exit quickly through either door.
Bikes On Board
-
Walk your bike with you when you board the streetcar.
-
There are no bike racks in the vehicle, so keep your bike with you while you ride.

If the streetcar is crowded, you may be required to wait for a less crowded one before you board with your bike.

Bikes cannot be locked to any streetcar stop structures, railings or fences. Removal will occur after 24 hours.

Monday - Saturday: 6 a.m. to midnight
Sundays: 8 a.m. to midnight
Streetcar operates seven days a week and arrives at stops every 15-20 minutes.

Fare
Streetcar will be free for all riders for the first year it is open. When the free fare period ends, Streetcar fare will be $1 per ride or $0.50 with Reduced Fare ID.
Youth (age 5 and under) ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying caretaker or guardian, defined as one who can directly supervise the child.

While waiting to board at the stop platform, stand behind the textured strip along the edge.

Streetcar doors open for a short time, so be prepared to board and exit quickly.

Stay safe while riding. Sit down or hold on to a handle in case the streetcar makes an abrupt stop.

Do not run after the streetcar. Wait and board the next one that arrives.

Do not walk on streetcar tracks or step in front of the vehicle.

Streetcars are quiet, so look for flashing headlights and listen for warning bells.

Alert the on board security officer if there's an incident while riding streetcar. You may also use the Alert Valley Metro app to discreetly report issues.
Safe Place
All Valley Metro buses, light rail stations, vehicles and streetcars serve as Safe Place locations. Teens, 12-17 years old, that are in crisis can request Safe Place assistance on board any vehicle by notifying the operator. For more information visit valleymetro.org/safeplace.
