Valley Metro Paratransit is taking every precaution to assure the safety of our customers and employees. To help eliminate the spread of COVID-19 we are asking you to help by wearing a protective cloth face covering as recommended by the Center for Disease Control when you find it necessary to use Valley Metro Paratransit.

Valley Metro Paratransit will continue to operate on a regular schedule for essential travel. For the safety of our riders and drivers, Valley Metro is following the COVID-19 guidelines, limited use of public transportation, set by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.) Please review the CDC guidance on watching for COVID-19 symptoms at cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html. If you are feeling ill or feeling symptoms of COVID-19 call your physician to discuss your health.

Paratransit Service updates

As a COVID-19 precaution, we are now providing single rider trips, with a few exceptions. To schedule your Paratransit trip call (602)716-2200.

RideChoice Update

Starting Monday, May 18, 2020, RideChoice customers choosing Uber as their mode of transportation are required to wear face coverings. This aligns with Uber’s new policy where Uber drivers are also required to wear a face covering. Drivers have been instructed to deny transport to customers that are not wearing a face covering. Additional services

Beginning March 30, Valley Metro is providing additional services to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help limit interaction between Paratransit drivers and passengers, Valley Metro is providing a delivery service for meals, pharmacy, and groceries when possible to Paratransit certified customers.  

Meal Delivery:

If you receive meals from locations such as a senior center, community center or senior congregate meal site and Valley Metro would pick you up for the meal, you may have your meals delivered to you. This service is available through Valley Metro Paratransit by calling (602)716-2200 and requesting meal delivery. Reminder, not all areas are served by Valley Metro Paratransit. Before calling Paratransit, please confirm meals are available at the requested facility. Make sure you have the following information for the reservationist to properly fulfill your delivery request:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Confirm meal is paid in full at your meal site 
  • Addresses for both meal pick up and drop off
  • Time requested for meal pick up

After scheduling your meal delivery with Paratransit, communicate to your provider a Paratransit driver will be picking up your meal. 

Pharmacy Delivery:

If Valley Metro would pick you up and take you to a pharmacy, Valley Metro Paratransit can deliver certain prescriptions or medical supplies from your local pharmacy. Reminder, not all areas are served by Valley Metro Paratransit. Prescription and medical supplies must be ordered and paid for in advance of scheduling the pick-up. Make sure you have the following information for the reservationist to properly fulfill your delivery request:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Confirm with your local pharmacy that the medicine and/or supplies are paid in full 
  • Communicate to the pharmacy Valley Metro Paratransit will be picking up your order
  • Addresses for order pick up and drop off
  • Time requested for order pick up

Grocery Delivery:

If Valley Metro would pick you up and take you to a grocery store, Valley Metro Paratransit can deliver your groceries by calling (602)716-2200. Reminder, not all areas are served by Valley Metro Paratransit. Make sure you have the following information for the reservationist to properly fulfill your delivery request:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Confirm with your local grocery store that the groceries are paid in full 
  • Addresses for order pick up and drop off
  • Time requested for order pick up

After scheduling your grocery delivery with Paratransit, communicate to your provider a Paratransit driver will be picking up your groceries. 

Personal Guidelines

We believe it is important to follow the recommended guidelines from the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) recommended distancing protocols.
We want your ride on Valley Metro to be safe, clean and comfortable, but please do your part:

  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Cover your cough or sneeze into your elbow
  • Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink fluids and eat healthy food.
