Valley Metro and the city of Phoenix opened the South Central Extension Community Office on Monday, February 26. Conveniently located along the future light rail extension, the office provides the community another way to connect with members of the project team.

“This is your office,” said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton to the South Central Phoenix community at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Any questions you have about this project just call or pop right in.”

Valley Metro and city of Phoenix kept a strong focus on staying local when creating the office. The office space is leased by a local property owner, a local contractor completed the renovations, the furniture is from the furniture store next door, and the eye-catching exterior mural was created by a Phoenix artist.

“This truly is a partnership,” said Scott Smith, Valley Metro CEO. “Not just with Valley Metro and the city of Phoenix, but with the community.”
