A key component of Valley Metro’s Construction Outreach Program for the Gilbert Road Extension is the formation of a citizen board to serve as the voices for the community during light rail construction. The board is known as the Community Advisory Board (CAB) and is comprised of residents, property owners and business representatives from the community adjacent to the light rail route.
The role of CAB members is to review and evaluate the performance of Valley Metro’s contractor as it related to minimizing impacts to the community. CAB members will make a recommendation to Valley Metro whether to award a quarterly incentive to the contractor for going ‘above and beyond’ Valley Metro’s contract requirements.
The Gilbert Road Extension CAB generally meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at Eagle College Preparatory, 1619 E. Main Street, Mesa. Please consult Valley Metro’s events calendar to confirm meeting date, time and location.
