Phoenix

Study to evaluate corridor options to connect the existing light rail system to the Paradise Valley Mall area.

In October 2018, the Phoenix City Council voted to delay the study of the Northeast extension to make additional funding available for future street maintenance.

Based on the Phoenix City Council's direction, Valley Metro has suspended this study indefinitely.

The Northeast project will provide enhanced transit service to the Paradise Valley Mall area and was scheduled to open in 2034. The Northeast corridor project is included in the regionally-approved Regional Transportation Plan.
