What are Construction Advisory Boards?
A key component of Valley Metro’s Construction Outreach Plan for the South Central Extension/Downtown Hub (SCE/DH) project is the formation of citizen advisory boards to serve as a voice for the affected community during light rail construction. The boards are known as the Construction Advisory Boards (CAB) and are composed of residents, property owners and business representatives from the community adjacent to the project route.
CAB members will serve as liaisons between the SCE/DH light rail project contractor and the community, and evaluate the performance of Valley Metro’s contractor in minimizing impacts to the community during construction. CAB members will make recommendations to Valley Metro whether to award a quarterly incentive to the contractor, related to public outreach, response to issues, traffic management and property restoration.
Two CABs will convene for the SCE/DH project representing the following areas:
- CAB North: McKinley Street to Victory Street
- CAB South: Victory Street to Baseline Road
When are the CAB meetings?
CAB North meets on the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. CAB South meets on the fourth Friday of the month at 8 a.m. Dates and times of the meetings are subject to change. Both meetings are open to the public and there will be a call to the audience for comments. Please review the Request to Speak Form on how to comment at the meetings on the right hand side of the screen listed under 'Info & Resources'. Please consult Valley Metro’s upcoming events page or the right hand side of the screen to confirm meeting dates, times and locations.
